Our Deanery and Diocese
Christ Church is a proud member of the Halifax Deanery, led by Area Dean Revd Robb Sutherland. We are part of the Huddersfield Episcopal Area, under the guidance of Archdeacon the Ven Bill Braviner and Area Bishop the Rt Revd Smitha Prasadam. This area is one of five that constitute the Diocese of Leeds.
The Diocese of Leeds, one of the 42 dioceses in the Church of England, was formed on April 20, 2014, merging the former dioceses of Leeds & Ripon, Bradford, and Wakefield. Our diocesan Bishop is the Rt Revd Nick Baines.
Additionally, the Diocese of Leeds is one of twelve dioceses in the Province of York.
